Yes, I had the same thing happen to me. The local shop told me its from heat and the air fuel mixture being off. I dont know if I quite beleve them. It seems like that is their answer for everything of this type. However the place I go told me its because of the heat and the quality of chrome used in the pipe. I replaced the pipe about 3 months into it because the baffles inside the pipe began to rattle. Went with a mac - new headder pipe and muffler. Cheaper than the jardine slip on and so far only a little color change. also if it is like mine the brown color will soon change to a light and dark blue. I dont worry about it anymore, its a sign that you are using the bike. kind of like battle scars.
